The sun seemed to rise early over the Heathrow Quality hotel that morning. it was telling us it was time to get up and get on the road to return to the USA. Or at least to rush to the airport to get to Air India.

Some of us seemed a little worse for the wear that morning. Maybe it was the transformation to undead and back, maybe it was the alcohol and late night.

Most of us made it on time to wait for the shuttle to the airport, but not all. A few would ahve to take a later shuttle and hope they would make it in time. Well, actually there was no rush, after all we were flying Air India.

At the airport, we checked in and discovered, to our shock, that Air India was delayed. Wow. Who could have predicted that one?

Trying to keep our smiles firmly on our faces we made the most of our extra few hours together.

Sharing stories and souvenirs, we hung out at the airport.

We even took the time to put our belts back on after they took them off of us during check in. A few people had a rather rough time checking in as they became very strict about the number of bags you walked through the gate with. It was ok, if they all fit inside each other, and once you were inside the gate you could take them out again, but you could only go through the gate with one.

Finally on the plane after several hours of delay, we were treated to Air India's unusual food, at least for us non-Indian folk. The soda can's had pull tabs, something I hadn't seen in years and the snacks were Namkeen and Potato Chiwua. Namkeen were spicy and the Potato Chiwua were like potato sticks with raisins and spices on them. Not too bad.

Dinner was some more curried chicken or fish and an unusual dessert that I didn't like all that much.

Sitting next to me on the flight was a bear I didn't know. He was rather quiet, but didn't ake up too much space, so I didn't complain. We landed safely at JFK, a bit late, and people grabbed their luggage and rushed to connecting flights. It was a great trip, and I think we all had a lot of fun.
