The answer is that the restaurant Sensa had a TV on inside that was tuned to the World Cup. Thirty or forty people were standing on the sidewalk, looking over all the people eating at the outside tables, past the inside tables, over the bar, and at the TV. On my way back to work, I also noticed numerous trucks pulled over, their doors and windows open, and people crowded around listening to the game. World Cup fever continues here in Manhattan.
