The Devil Wears Prada starring Meryl Streep

posted Wednesday, 5 July 2006

“Best movie EVER!”  At least that’s what one friend of mine declared as it ended.  I however, would disagree.

The Devil Wears Prada is in fact a fun summer movie.  If a short running time and strong female characters complete your movie going experience, then you may love this movie.  Like its print version, it is great by the pool reading/viewing material.  Fun, sassy, and quick.  But don’t go looking for any depth to the pool or you will crack you head on the bottom.

Ms. Streep does a wonderful job as the cold hearted boss who has sold her soul to have, as she thinks, the life that everyone wants.  While a better movie might have left us questioning if this was in fact the life we wanted, or not, The Devil Wears Prada doesn’t even challenge it’s viewers that much.  Instead the movie gets in a couple more snappy moments and comes to a quick and predictable ending, like this review.
