Tiny Ninja Theater presents...

posted Tuesday, 20 March 2007

Treasure Island!

Ok, a disclaimer... this is an announcement for a preview of a new show from Tiny Ninja Theater.  I have not seen this show, but Dov Weinstein and his cast of plastic actors always work very hard on their amazing shows.  The performances that I have seen in the past were deep and moving as only a plastic toy soldier and a 2 inch high smiley faced yellow woman can be.  SO, don't miss this new production as it is sure to be a classic!  All the details are below.

Since the dawn of time humanity has struggled with certain fundamental existential questions:
- What is the meaning of life?
- What is the sound of one hand clapping?
- If you're driving at the speed of light and you turn on the headlights, what happens?
And, most fundamentally existential of all:
- Who's the coolest: Ninjas or Pirates?

Finally, humanity can let the sun set on at least one of these gnawing concerns.  No more must we choose between Ninjas and Pirates.  We can, at long last, have them both.

Tiny Ninja Theater, best known for its well-traveled productions of Shakespearian tragedies performed by inch-high plastic ninjas and assorted dime-store figures now gingerly wades into the muddy waters of novelic adaptation to bring to the stage an original telling of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic "Treasure Island."

Long-time leading lady Mrs. Smile, best known for her work as Lady Macbeth and Juliet's Nurse, comments on the rumored upcoming debut performance of director Dov Weinstein in "Tiny Ninja Theater presents Treasure Island":  "Like most moderately successful directors, our director, Dov Weinstein, is really a failed actor at heart.  Which makes his taking a more active part in this show all the more ... well ... forgivable."

While the company is certainly thankful to anyone who wishes to attend this preview performance, we kindly request that members of the press refrain from publishing their displeasure until our full opening later in the season.
